Blueprint Route

Subnautica 2 Repair Tool — scan all 3 fragments, then craft with 1 Sulfur.

The Repair Tool is a battery-powered handheld device that fixes damaged mechanical objects — Tadpole hulls, broken wreck doors, Alterra habitat components. It is one of the biggest mid-game unlocks because the sealed Cicada Wreck doors hide the Rebreather blueprint.

Step 1 — Scan the 3 fragments

Scan all 3 with the Scanner. Once the third scan completes, the Repair Tool blueprint unlocks automatically in the Fabricator under the Tools category.

Fragment 1 — Colonist Bunker (SE of Lifepod): Compass heading ~150-165°, ~30m depth. Look for a rock formation with a red hatch under a blue indicator light. The fragment sits on a desk inside the bunker.
Fragment 2 — Cicada Wreck Lander Garage (NE): Compass heading 30-60°, ~347m from the Lifepod, ~30m depth. Enter from underneath the wreck via the left-side entrance into the Lander Garage. The fragment is on the ground in the southeastern corner of the garage.
Fragment 3 — Cicada Wreck Canteen (south): Compass heading ~195°, ~270m from the Lifepod, 50m+ depth. Enter from the back of the wreck, go left, dive down. The fragment is on a couch near a cracked elevator.

Step 2 — Craft the Repair Tool

Crafted at the Fabricator → Tools category.

Titanium Ingot ×1 — 5 Titanium ore at the Fabricator
Wiring Kit ×1 — Silver Ore ×1 + Copper Wire ×1 at the Fabricator
Basic Battery ×1 — Copper Ore ×2 + Acidic Raion Pouch ×1 at the Fabricator
Sulfur ×1 — see the shortcut below
Sulfur shortcut: For your first Sulfur, swim ~200m SE of your Lifepod to the Coral Crab area at ~25m depth — there's a small Sulfur cluster you can free-dive without Heat Tolerance. Don't go into the vents yet; the heat DOT will kill you before you have the Heat Resistance Chip.

What the Repair Tool actually fixes

Tadpole submarine — restores durability. At 0% the Tadpole won't move until repaired.
Broken wreck doors — opens sealed sections to access blueprints and supplies. The large wreck doors NE of the Lifepod hide the Rebreather blueprint behind one of these.
Alterra wreck components — restores damaged hull and habitat modules.

Operating tips

A HUD prompt appears automatically when a repairable object is within range — no guessing needed
Battery drains at 1 energy per second. Carry spare Basic Batteries for long wreck dives
Assign the Repair Tool to a toolbelt slot for fast access during exploration
Plan your Lead farming run after you have the Repair Tool so you can open Cicada Wreck doors immediately
